    THE DEMOISELLE
       DAMSELFLY.

I found this beautiful male damselfly on the banks of the River Severn at Deerhurst during June 2010. There were plenty of  them looking for females which are green in colour.

The Comma.

This butterfly I found too by the River Severn at Apperley - it must like nettles and it spent some time spreading its wings in the sun.

HARRIS HAWK!

This photograph was taken on the hedge between the Woodthorpes  and our garden
in School Road,  Apperley on the 29th March 2012 the day after it killed a cockerel. It was identified as a juvenile Harris Hawk - a native of South America.
It was captured a few days later and taken to the Bird of Prey Centre at Newent.
